Seedance 2.0
Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance Seed's previous video generation, released around February 2026, a few months before Seedance 2.5. You can generate from a prompt, animate a still, edit footage you already have, or extend a take. Sound is generated with the picture.
Generate can take reference stills, clips, and audio. Edit takes the footage you already have, plus optional reference stills and audio, so a face or a product can stay consistent while the camera moves. Clips run from 4 to 15 seconds. Aspect ratios include 16:9, 9:16, and 21:9, and output runs from 480p up to 4K.
What it's good for
Cinematic spots, trailers, and social films, including work you expect to revise. Edit and extend are there so a near-miss can be continued instead of thrown out. It is a video model, not a talking-avatar tool and not a stills generator.
