Seedream 5.0 Pro is ByteDance Seed’s stills model, released around July 2026. It generates from a prompt, edits from stills, and can decompose a composition into layers. Resolutions are 1K, 1.5K, and 2K. Output is JPEG or PNG. Prompt optimization has standard and fast modes.
Aspect ratios cover square through banners, including 21:9 and 9:21. Generate defaults to 1:1 and 1K. Edit requires an images list. Decompose takes one image apart into layers; a prompt on decompose is optional.
What it's good for
Posters, key art, packaging comps, and layouts that will be finished in a design tool. Decompose is the reason to pick this model when a headline, a subject, and a background need to move independently after the render. It is stills only.
