Veo 3.1
Veo 3.1 is Google DeepMind’s cinematic video model, released in October 2025. It generates picture and synchronized audio together — dialogue, footsteps, room tone — so the soundtrack is meant to feel recorded with the shot rather than added later.
You can generate from a prompt, animate a still with an optional last frame, use reference stills, or extend a clip. Durations are 4, 6, or 8 seconds, in 16:9 or 9:16, at 720p, 1080p, or 4K. On some paths, 8 seconds is what unlocks 1080p and 4K. Extend does not run at 4K. A negative prompt and a seed are available.
What it's good for
Advertising and brand work, especially landscape 16:9 shots where the sound has to be convincing: a product set down on a table, a line delivered to camera, ambient sound that matches the place. Think in short shots, not long sequences. The duration window is 4, 6, or 8 seconds.
