Why use Protoface with ComfyUI?

Generate images, video, and audio through Protoface while keeping your workflow in ComfyUI.

Run independent generations in parallel

Run several prompts or models at once to compare their results, with generation handled by Protoface in the cloud.

Use cloud models without a local GPU

Protoface runs the models, so you can generate without downloading weights and keep your machine available for editing or compositing.

Common questions

What is ComfyUI?

ComfyUI is an open-source, node-based interface for building AI image, video, and audio workflows. Each node handles a step, such as loading an image, generating a video, or saving a result. Connect nodes to create a repeatable workflow you can save and share.

Can I use ComfyUI without a local GPU?

Yes, for Protoface generation nodes: the models run in the cloud, so you do not need a local GPU or downloaded model weights. You need ComfyUI and an internet connection. Other nodes that run local AI models may have their own hardware requirements.

Which AI models can I use in ComfyUI?

The Protoface extension includes model-specific nodes for video models such as MiniMax H3, LTX 2.5, Kling, and Seedance; image models such as FLUX and Qwen; and audio models from ElevenLabs. Search by Protoface, model name, or task in ComfyUI’s Add Node menu to find the available nodes.

How do I install the Protoface ComfyUI extension?

Download the extension and follow the installation guide for your ComfyUI setup, then restart ComfyUI. Open the Protoface panel and add your API key. To make your first generation, choose an included workflow from ComfyUI’s Templates menu, enter a prompt, and queue it.

Do I need a Protoface API key?

Yes. Create a Protoface account, get an API key, and enter it in the Protoface panel in ComfyUI. The extension keeps the key outside your workflow, so exported graphs do not include it. You can share workflows without sharing your credentials.

How much does Protoface cost in ComfyUI?

The extension is free to install. Image, video, and audio generations use the same model-specific API rates shown on Protoface and are billed to your API credits. Comfy credits and Protoface Studio subscriptions do not cover this API usage.

Do I need to update the plugin when Protoface adds models?

Usually, you only need to refresh the catalog and restart ComfyUI. Compatible new models appear without reinstalling the plugin. Models that need new features may require a plugin update.

Can I use Protoface on Comfy Cloud?

This extension works with local ComfyUI, ComfyUI Desktop, and hosted installations that allow custom nodes. Comfy Cloud does not currently allow installing the Protoface extension, and its credits cannot be used for Protoface API generations.
