Runway Gen-4 Image generates stills from text, with optional reference images and a faster turbo pass. Runway is a New York video company; the stills often look like frames pulled from a longer piece.
Aspect ratios are 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, and 3:4, default 4:3. Resolution is 1080p or 720p, default 1080p. Seed and reference images are optional. Turbo uses the same controls as generate. There is no edit-from-images list and no upscale path.
What it's good for
Storyboards, key frames, concept art, and promotional stills in the Runway look. Pass reference images when a face, product, or palette has to stay consistent across frames. Use turbo while exploring; use generate when the frame is the one you keep.
